Komatsu, a leading construction equipment manufacturer, has launched the PC130LC-11, a longer undercarriage version of its midsize PC130-11 excavator that was unveiled in 2020. This new LC (Long Carriage) model boasts an 8% increase in track length, resulting in a remarkable 20% boost in lifting capacity compared to its predecessor, the PC130-8, which was discontinued in the U.S. market in 2011.
The PC130LC-11 shares many similarities with the standard PC130-11 model in terms of specifications. However, the longer tracks of the LC version are specifically designed to enhance stability and lifting capabilities. Notable improvements include an increase from 43 to 46 shoes on each side, two carrier rollers on each side instead of one, and eight track rollers on each side compared to seven.
Andrew Earing, Director of Tracked Products at Komatsu, highlights the versatility and adaptability of the upgraded PC130LC-11 excavator, stating, "It can easily handle a wide variety of utility work or small construction jobs.
