An Indiana based wrecking company called ConEquip Parts in need of a final drive for their Hitachi EX200LC-5 excavator. Parts specialist Adam Bailey took the call.
"Josh (the company owner) said their final drive went down on their backup machine and needed to replace the entire unit," Bailey said. He added that the company had a used option available at a local salvage yard priced at $10,500.
There is of course risk involved when investing in used construction parts so Josh was hesitant about going with that option. Using the network available at ConEquip Parts, Adam was able to quickly locate a better option; a rebuilt final drive complete with a 90 day warranty.
To make the option even better for Josh, Bailey was able to price the rebuilt final drive $1,000 less than the used option available from the Indiana salvage yard.
"He was definitely happy with having a rebuilt EX200LC-5 final drive instead of a used one and paying a thousand dollars less didn't hurt either," Bailey said.
