Parts Specialist Sam Ginavan took a call from Mariano Torres of Trader Mac Corporation out of Miami, Florida looking for CAT 990 II piston pumps.
Mariano was celebrating a birthday however, that didn't stop him from working to get parts for his customer.
"I needed to know if these pump were original OEM. This is a good customer and I don't want to lie to them," Torres said.
"I told Mariano these pumps are not OEM but that the Caterpillar is actually buying Rexroth pumps to supply their customers," Ginavan told Torres.
Trader Mac Corporation also had quotes from another company that claimed to have OEM pumps but Sam explained to Mariano that was probably not the case because they were backordered at Caterpillar.
After further investigation, Torres discovered the competing company did not have the pumps readily available.
In the end, Torres simply wanted to assure his customer on quality and reliability. It is the same with us here at ConEquip Parts.
