Top 5 Heavy Equipment Companies 2016

What construction companies will rise, which ones will fall ahead of the KHL International Construction’s annual Yellow Table ranking? Each spring the world’s top 50 construction equipment manufacturers are released, providing insight into the industry and global economy.

Here are the top five ahead of this year’s list.

  1. Caterpillar equipment company

    Caterpillar

    Caterpillar has spent 14 years now at the top of the Yellow Table, although they did have a drop in construction equipment revenues from $28.3 billion in 2014 to $24.1 billion in 2015. Caterpillar Inc. is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange with a market cap of more than $59 billion (as of May 2017).
  2. Komatsu equipment company

    Komatsu

    Komatsu holds on to the second position again. The Japanese company experienced a drop of $2.8 billion in construction equipment sales in 2015, down to $14 billion.
  3. TEREX Corporation

    Terex

    Terex moved up from number five in 2014 to number three last spring. As with most construction companies, sales dropped. Terex’s 2015 sales came in at $6.54 billion.
  4. Hitachi construction equipment

    Hitachi

    Hitachi dropped one spot back to four. The Japanese company had $6.50 billion in construction equipment sales in 2015.
  5. Liebherr equipment

    Liebherr (Germany) – 2015 rank: #6

    Liebherr broke back into the top five after dropping to number six in 2014. The company had $6.2 billion in construction equipment sales.
